    Takeover of the management by Mrs. Anita Mertens (born Velden) and Mr. Dipl.-Ing. Werner Mertens
  • Workshop in Horrem Workshop in Horrem Extension of the hall area and crane capacity. Main customer is the opencast mining part of RWE- Power AG with motors up to 2 MW power and 15 tons of weight.

    Change of Management

    Takeover of the management by Mr. Dipl.-Ing. Jörg Mertens and his brother Mr. Arndt Mertens.
  • Move to Frechen-Habbelrath Move to Frechen-Habbelrath Expansion of the hall/workshop area up to 6.000 sqm, Expansion of the crane capacity up to 100 tons. Extensive investments in new plants and processing machines

    VPI technology

    VPI technology

    Purchase of a vacuum pressure impregnation system for the production of medium and high voltage windings. Till that time, these windings have been manufactured exclusively in the Resin-Rich process. Both technologies can now be offered in-house.
  • Partly takeover of company Alessandri Alessandri, located in Brühl, sold its part of electrical machines to Velden GmbH. This will significantly expand the customer base in the area of explosion-protected motors.

    A further 2,000 sqm have been added. Here, very large components are washed, sandblasted and painted in corresponding plants.
